A Little Nerve-racking

Today at David's 9:15 break he informed me that his plant was going through with the lay-offs that have been rumored for the past several months. They were laying off 30 people on dayshift and 25 on nightshift. They were going to start the process after that break. Lunch break came and he was still "safe". He said it was pretty hard watching guys around him be told the bad news and then head home. One guy left crying. Well, he made it through the day and still has his job. They aren't "planning" anymore layoffs, but they said it's not something they can "promise" in these shaky times. The other thing the plant is doing is shutting down from Dec 31-Jan 19. Sooooo... we're thinking that we'll use the time to go back east. We haven't been "home" to PA/NJ in 2 years. It would be nice to see our families. One more thought about all of this... Even though we are living in very "shaky" times, I'm glad I can cling to the Solid Rock.
