Coloring Contest/Parade
A few weeks ago the "Abbott House", which is a residential treatment center for abused and troubled girls, had a coloring contest for the children of our town. The coloring page could be picked up at the local newspaper office. Harmony LOVES to color. She is really good at it for a 3 year old. She is very particular and careful that she stays in the lines. She takes her time and usually pays attention to detail. Anyway, she entered the contest. There were 3 age groups. Her age group was 3 years old-1st grade. She one 3rd place!!! Pretty good for a 3 year old to place against kids twice her age! She won a $10 gift certificate to Cabela's and also the opportunity to ride on the Abbott House's parade float in Mitchell's annual Parade of Lights. She was pretty excited about it. So... last night she rode on the parade float. David said she had a lot of fun. She wasn't shy with the other girls on the float. At one point before the parade had started, she went over to where David was standing at a distance and said, "It's ok, Daddy. You can go now." My thoughts: A little early for her to be socially comfortable to dismiss her father so she can hang out with her new friends!!! Oh well. The float Harmony rode on got 3rd place for their use of lights in the parade. Here are some pictures that David snapped. I was disappointed that he didn't get one of the whole float :-(
