What a week this has been! On Monday, I was feeling optimistic and full of strength since both Harmony and I were feeling better from the cold/cough she so generously shared with me. I was thinking, "Last week was rough since we were both sick. This week will be back to normal (if that is possible with twins and a 3 1/2 year old)." Monday did go fine. Early Tuesday morning it hit me. The stomach flu. When David called on his 9:15 break he said he would come home to help. It was a good thing he did. I was soooo sick. I had the chills, was achy, and very weak. David went back to work on Wednesday even though I was still not better. I wasn't as weak, and I managed to make it through the day. I was sick all the way up until this morning. 48 hours!!! Well, 6:30 am David was leaving for work and said he didn't feel very good. Harmony slept on the couch, and at 6:55 am she told me that her tummy didn't feel good. I told her that if she was going to puke, go to the bathroom. "I won't puke, Mommy." 5 minutes later my couch got a barf bath. I will try not to be too descriptive with this post, but Harmony had eaten a bunch of cheesy garlic bread the night before. NASTY! Anyway, the babies were sleeping... so I got Harmony in the tub and dressed her. I got my steam-vac out and cleaned the couch. I kept telling Harmony to stay close to the trash can, but... she didn't make it. New mess to clean up on the bathroom floor. Tub #2 for her. She kept getting sick and for some reason, no matter how much I begged her to do it in the trash can, she would do it all over herself. I was picturing a day trying to take care of the twins and having to bathe/rebathe/steam-clean everytime she got sick. I finally had to make a blanket bed in the kitchen for her to sleep on. The blankets can be washed easily - as can the floor. Poor little girl is still there now. Tomorrow morning I'm going to wash her up really good. I'm praying her sickness is 24 hours and not 48 like mine. Ok, rewind this day back to 9:15 am and I'll tell about David. He called and said he still wasn't feeling the best, but wasn't really sick yet. 12:15 he called on his lunch break and said it was starting to hit him. He wanted to make it through the day at work, but had to come home around 3:00. Soooo... my day has been spent cleaning up puke and taking care of the twins. -And would you believe Elijah decided that he wanted to wear 4 different things today? Well, the 1st time was Harmony's fault since she puked on him..yuck!!!! Then he blew out his diaper.. then he gave himself and Addy a "shower" on the changing table. Then he spit up a lot. Oh well. I keep thinking I'll wake up and it'll all be a dream, but no such luck. I need to get some sleep. Remember us in your prayers!!!!
I was just about to post this, and I heard Harmony have another episode. She is still refusing to puke in the garbage can that is a foot from her head. Oh please get me through this, God!!!!!
On the bright side, I lost several pounds in the last couple days.
